what you need to know

When looking to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles, anti-wrinkle injections (also known as BOTOX) can produce effective results. Infused with purified proteins, they work by blocking nerve signals in the muscles, when injected into specific areas of the face. The injections contain a naturally occurring neurotoxin, botulinum toxin type A, which helps to stop the muscles from over contracting and wrinkling the skin. A great solution for temporarily reducing the appearance of a variety of lines and wrinkles, including: forehead lines, frown lines, crow’s feet, bunny lines, neck lines, marionette lines, nasal lines and eye wrinkles, anti-wrinkle injections can effectively smooth the skin for a youthful and rejuvenated look.

A thorough consultation with one of our team will take a look at your concerns and, by taking into account your desired outcome, will advise on the best treatment option for you.

In general, Anti-Wrinkle Injections last 3-4 months. There will certainly be patients in which the results last longer, in that 4-6 month range, or shorter, in that 2-month range. It is also common for first timers to notice that it may not last as long initially but may last longer after the second treatment. Everyone has a unique experience and results may vary.

Many patients will describe Anti-Wrinkle Injections as a comfortable treatment. The product is administered using a very fine needle and the treatment area can be numbed using a topical anaesthetic cream, prior to the procedure. Any discomfort is short lived and only usually lasts for the duration of the actual treatment.

Minor side effects are commonly experienced with Anti-Wrinkle Injections. Some redness, swelling, itching and bruising can appear at the injection site, which usually subsides within 12 – 24 hours. This will be explained to you during the pre-treatment consultation, along with any other potential side effects that can occur.

Anti-Wrinkle boast having very little downtime attached and before you leave the clinic your practitioner will ensure you have been given any relevant aftercare instructions.
